About the Artist
Art has been my passion since I was a young girl, while at school, I won a National Junior Art Competition at just 12 years of age. Living in the beautiful seaside town of Montrose, situated on the east coast of Scotland, I am fortunate to have the beauty of the land and seascapes on my doorstep. Just a few miles up the east coast lies the small village of Catterline where famous artist, Joan Eardley gained inspiration for some of her most famous works.
My art is varied in style from semi-abstract to modern contemporary, using a wide variety of media and different textures and tones. I paint from the heart, life's highs and lows..
I particularly enjoy painting dramatic scenery, skies and buildings; combining it with my love of gardens and nature. I have been inspired by my recent travels around the world, visiting some of the most remote places on earth where the spectacular land/seascapes are utterly breath-taking.
I have exhibited in the annual Winter Exhibition at the Meffan Gallery in Forfar as well as taken part in the North East Open Studios (NEOS)
As well as a self taught artist, I have a real passion for gardens and achieved a diploma in Garden Design (DGD) from the National Design Academy in Nottingham.
I also hold a diploma in Home staging, interior design & decorating. (IDDP)
